The first gallery includes a display of womenswear and another of menswear showing a selection of the museum's finest examples from the 18th century to the present day.

There's a display case of underwear, followed by a chance for children and adults to try on replicas of corsets and crinolines. Find out how to lace yourself into a corset, and how it changes the way you stand and move about.

The second gallery includes displays of fashions for different times of day and different occasions or activities. there are fashions too by four important British designers of the 1970s and 1980s: John Bates for Jean Varon, Janice Wainwright, Wendy Dagworthy and knitwear designer, Sarah Dallas.

There are more than 100 figures and over 100 fashion objects on display in the Fashion Museum, all arranged in a series of thematic displays. Our aim is to give an inspiring and enjoyable taste of a dynamic museum collection and a fascinating and complex subject which touches the lives of us all.
