John Bates: Fashion designer exhibition, 2006

Until recently, all special exhibitions were held in the largest exhibition gallery on the lower ground floor of the Museum.  In 2006 we held our first summer show John Bates: Fashion Designer on the ground floor in the elegant surroundings of the Ball Room of the Assembly Rooms.

This was followed in summer 2007 by Pick of the Bunch in the Ball Room, and the touring exhibition Travilla - the man who dressed Marilyn Monroe in the Great Octagon in summer 2008.
