Christmas at the Museums

The museums of Bath & North East Somerset have a whole host of creative events for the family in the run up to Christmas. You can find out about how the Romans and the Georgians celebrated Christmas, make your own arty wrapping paper and cards and join in the lantern procession into the Christmas market, to name but a few.

Bath & North East Somerset’s Victoria Art Gallery will be holding two workshops to give children some inspirational ideas for Christmas: Wrap it up, for 6-11 year olds on Saturday 29 November, and Christmas crafts, for 3-7 year olds on Saturday 13 December, are sure to be popular, so booking is essential on 01225 477244.  Full details from the website http://www.victoriagal.org.uk/

The Council-run Roman Baths and Fashion Museum will also be holding events for children on consecutive Sundays during December. The drop-in family events, Roman Festivals on 7 December at the Roman Baths, and Christmas stockings on 14 December at the Fashion Museum are free to local residents with a Discovery Card. Full details from http://www.romanbaths.co.uk/ and http://www.fashionmuseum.co.uk/
